Theology: Brussels, seven meetings on “Europe… and tomorrow?”. Identity, social model, family, religions, environment

(Brussels) Europe will be the focus of a Theology Seminar open to the public and organised by the Institute of Theological Studies in Brussels. “Europe… and tomorrow?” will be the theme of a series of seven meetings addressing the great challenges of today. The first meeting will be held on Tuesday, 21 March, and the last on the Tuesday preceding the European elections. The European social model, the European identity, terrorism, the family, the geopolitical role of Europe, the experiences of Islam in the old continent, and the ecological transition – these are all the topics chosen for reflection. The themes will be introduced by renowned speakers, including sociologist Patrick Develtere, adviser at the European Political Strategy Centre (EPSC) of the European Commission; Sebastien Maillard, director of the Jacques Délors Institute; Belgian Federal Prosecutor Frederic van Leeuw; the President of the European Federation of Catholic Family Associations (FAFCE) Antoine Renard; economist Pierre Defraigne; anthropologist Farid El Asri; and Jesuit economist Gael Giraud.
