EU Commission: State of the Union, here are operational plans on migration, asylum, finance, election and daylight savings time

(Strasbourg) After president Jean-Claude Juncker’s State of the Union address, at the European Parliament in Strasbourg on September 12th, today the EU Commission announces a number of political and regulatory plans to implement some of the matters dealt with by Juncker himself. Such plans include: a plan for “a more efficient financial architecture in support of investments outside the EU”; monitoring money laundering to make finances more stable; a plan for an “Africa-Europe alliance” for “sustainable investments and employment”; a “more efficient” decision-making process in common foreign affairs and security policies for the EU’s international role. In addition, the EU Commission describes a plan for a European Public Prosecutor against international terrorism and new rules to remove terrorist contents from the web. And there’s no shortage of measures to have a “free, regular” European election and the steps to put an end to seasonal time changes. Probably the most awaited idea is the one called “Last parts for a compromise on migration and border reform”. The EU Parliament’s plans “mainly intend to help achieve a global compromise on the reform of the EU’s asylum system that is being debated right now”, raising the “ambitiousness of the rules on a European border and coast guard and the EU asylum office”. In addition, the EU Commission proposes that repatriation procedures be made more effective.
