World Meeting of Families: a cartoon and a TV series to reflect on Amoris Laetitia

Ireland has launched a series of digital animations and a six-part TV series to reflect on Amoris Laetitia, Pope Francis’ Apostolic Exhortation on love in the family, in preparation for the World Meeting of Families and the Pope’s visit next August. The six “Amoris Animations”, available in Italian, Spanish and French, provide insights into the theme of the document in the form of “short, engaging and shareable” cartoons, each focusing on a theme (e.g. love and imperfection, families and consumerism, families living in a digital age). Another four animations specifically created for children will be launched at the Pastoral Congress in August. The author of the cartoons is Kieran O’Brien, director of the digital storytelling agency Ministory (Cardiff, Wales). The animations are available at www.worldmeeting2018.ie. The TV series “A Journey through Amoris Laetitia”, co-produced by Kairos Communications and iCatholic.ie, features reflections by well-known commentators and families from all walks of life and from all over the world. Indeed, contributors include Card. Luis Antonio Tagle; the Auxiliary Bishop of Los Angeles, Robert Barron; John and Clear Gabrowski, from the Pontifical Council for the Family; and Pat and Susan Keenan of Retrouvaille Ireland. Each episode focuses on a particular theme (e.g. the reality, the social, mercy), is 28:30 in length and is available on the website www.amoris.ie/tv which hosts a number of resources to help people prepare for the World Meeting of Families.
