(Brussels) The problem of vaccines has landed at the European Parliament. Today, the Public Health and Environment Commission gathered in Brussels will ask for measures to fight “indecision” about vaccines in the European Union, where, a notice explains, “an increasing number of citizens chooses to delay or refuse vaccines”. Recent figures about the member states “show a remarkable decrease in the use of vaccines”, an issue that concerns the parliamentary commission about the protection of public health. Tomorrow, the day before the commemoration of the terrorist attacks in Brussels and London, on March 22^nd 2016 and 2017, respectively, the Parliament’s agenda will include a public hearing by the special antiterrorism commission, “to pay tribute to the victims of terrorism and discuss how to make sure their rights are duly protected in the EU”. The president of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani, will open the discussions. Also tomorrow, the Industry and Energy commission will vote on a plan to apply the EU gas market rules (fractionation, independent supervision …) to third-country suppliers too. Such rule would apply to any future gas pipeline directed to the EU and coming from non-EU countries, such as for instance Russia (including Nord Stream 2), Norway, Algeria, Libya, Tunisia and Morocco. Later that day, the commission will discuss the latest developments in gas supplies from Russia to Ukraine.
