Nonviolent life stories are included in the “Lenten Reflection Guide 2018” that the Pax Christi International Movement makes available to anyone who wants to become a “follower of the nonviolent Jesus”. For every Sunday of this particular time starting on Ash Wednesday, the Guide offers reflections based on true stories collected by Maryknoll, the Foreign Mission Society of the United States of America. The first story is about the civil war in El Salvador and the nonviolent protests of the farmers driven out of their lands. There are also “questions for reflection”, prayers and suggestions for action. As Greet Vanaerschot, secretary general of Pax Christi International, explained: the goal is to “live nonviolence” this Lent. All national associations are invited to use and disseminate these resources, in addition to sharing their efforts and experiences along the journey.
