The Baltic countries are jointly preparing a book retracing the Pope’s visit to Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania last September (22-25 September 2018). The book will collect not just the speeches and photos from the trip to the three Baltic Republics, but also “the testimonies of local people”. Ingrīda Lisenkova, media officer at the Latvian Bishops’ Conference, will be in charge of the publication. The decision to include the speeches delivered by the Pope in the three countries is based on the awareness that “the programme of the visit was designed to look” at the three legs of the journey “together”: “for example, his words to young people in Lithuania and Estonia are equally addressed to young people in Latvia”, Lisenkova explained. Also, the press offices invite those who have attended in person one of the scheduled events to send in an account of their own personal experience. Even those who have “followed the visit through the media can share their thoughts and experiences”. The book is expected to be released by mid-2019.
