The Archbishop of Vienna, Cardinal Cristoph Schonborn, will be the guest of honour at the celebrations marking the end of the Great War that are being held in Belgrade from 9 to 11 November. On the eve of his arrival, the representatives of religions will attend an ecumenical prayer service for peace in Europe at the Church of Christ the King in Belgrade. Then a “Moses Bush” will be planted in the garden of the Archbishop’s House as a “sign of the desire for love, understanding and dialogue between all actors in Europe”. On Saturday, 10 November, Card. Schonborn will preside at a Eucharistic celebration for peace and reconciliation among peoples at the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, while in the afternoon, there will be a prayer at the military graves in the Novo Groblje cemetery. In the evening, the Faculty of Orthodox Theology will host an event to present the translation into Serbian of the book by Card. Schonborn “Jesus the Master. School of life”. At the end of his visit, the Archbishop of Vienna will visit the Obrenovac refugee camp served by Caritas Serbia.
