(Brussels) The will to carry on with the negotiations for a mutually-agreed Brexit is there, but, “at the same time, as responsible as we are, we must prepare the EU for a no-deal scenario which is more likely than ever before”. Donald Tusk does not hide the problems that still linger on the agreements with London for “divorcing” the European Union on March 29^th 2019. No global, exhaustive agreement looms ahead yet, so, in the letter of invitation sent by the president of the European Council to the 28 leaders of the member states, Tusk warns about any potential scenario. The summit of the 28 member states will take place from tomorrow night to Thursday; it will be followed by an Euro-zone summit and a summit between Europe and Asia, on Friday. “Our getting ready for a no-deal scenario must by no means hold us from doing everything in our power to reach the best possible agreement for all the parties involved”. Tusk makes reference to the other items on the agenda: “We will have a debate and will adopt the conclusions on migration, internal security and external relations. Our goal is to send a strong message about the fight against smuggling  networks, the protection of our external borders, and the building of our partnerships with the countries where migrants come from and pass through”. Then, the summit will discuss cyber-security, “our new partnership with Africa” and the forthcoming summit with the Arab League, “as well as other global issues, especially the fight against climate change before the Cop 24 in Katowice”.
