Belgium: Bruges, ecumenical meeting on “impact of the Reform on our Churches”

For its 51st meeting-cum-workshop, the Belgian national Catholic committee for ecumenism chose to focus on “the impact of the Reform on our Churches”. The meeting will take place at the abbey of Sint-Andries de Zevenkerken in Bruges on October 7th and will be opened by mgr. Johan Bonny, bishop in charge of ecumenism at the Belgian Bishops Conference. The Lutheran theologian Bruneau Jousselin will go to the heart of the matter with a speech about the character of Martin Luther, followed by the words of other Christian Church leaders: the Catholic Annemarie Mayer, the Orthodox Antoine Arjakovsky and the Evangelical Jelle Creemers. In the afternoon, at a workshop they will discuss the need to reform the church continuously.
