During the “Clergy training days”, the diocese of Coimbra described its pastoral plan for the three years 2017-2020, through which it aims at “involving all the communities in preparing the future of the region, addressing the big challenges of evangelisation, the renewal of spirituality, and the reorganisation of its structure”. In presenting the plan, the bishop of Coimbra, mgr. Virgílio Antunes, actually emphasised “the importance of every person and of every Christian, as an active part in the process of transformation and in the pastoral service, and not as a mere recipient of a set of ideas, principles or prospects worked out by someone else in the loneliness of their offices”.
