Slovakia: new school offering two-year formation in catholic faith for young lay people opens in nitra

(Bratislava) – A new education project for Christian animators working with youth has been launched by the Diocese of Nitra in collaboration with the University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra. Registration for young people aged 17 and over who desire to “deepen their knowledge of the truths of faith and enrich their spiritual life, and who feel the need to communicate these values to their contemporaries”, is open until 29 September. The School for Animators will consist of sixteen info-formation weekends due to take place over the next two years. Education will focus on the fundamental pillars of Catholic faith, spiritual and theological tradition, anthropological and philosophical views of human existence and development. “The project is being launched on the base of our knowledge of the needs in parishes, where we, especially in the past years, have witnessed a new zeal among young people to provide a strong foundation to their faith and to influence the environment they live in. We want to help them develop this desire and offer them an adequate ecclesial formation”, explain the initiators of the project. The first lessons will take place on 10-12 November.
