Kosovo: Fr Koliqi (parish at the Pristina Sanctuary), prayers, pastoral and charity in the name of Mother Teresa

Mass celebrations at the Sanctuary of Mother Teresa of Calcutta (Pristina, Kosovo) started on the consecration day, Tuesday 5 September; every Thursday there is “the adoration of the Most Holy, a fundamental event for Mother Teresa, for both her life and her charity. Therefore, we want to prepare the birth of a group of prayer based on the spirituality of Saint Teresa”. Fr Fatmir Koliqi, parish of the Sanctuary, said that to SIR. “We are also preparing pastoral meetings with youth, families, elderly people… the university pastoral has already been living for two years in our parish, because there are lots of students in Pristina, and they are taking part in the pastoral and social life of the city”. Then pastoral instruments and texts will be published to promote the spirituality of Mother Teresa. To share the passion of the Saint for the poor, a dining place was open at the very beginning of the construction of the Sanctuary, ten years ago: “Since then, over 100 people have received their hot meals every day. We will go on with this service, and if we can, we shall include more poor people, from other areas”, says Fr Fatmir. “Our Church itself is poor; it lives by the help of others, of believers, and of the Churches in the West. It operates with its means, or when it has them”.
