“A decision making the Two Peoples/Two States’ solution fostered by the international community almost impossible: it is a law against justice: land of others is being gabbed in a legal way”. That was the comment, for SIR, of Monsignor William Shomali, auxiliary bishop of Jerusalem and patriarchal vicar for Palestine. The law passed by the Israeli parliament (Knesset) retroactively legalises the houses built (about 4 thousand) by settlers without licence on private Palestinian land, in the West Bank. The rule was mainly supported by the ultraconservative pro-settler Jewish Home Party, led by Naftali Bennett, supporting the government of PM Netanyahu.
