Economy: EU Forecast, according to Dombrovskis, “the aim must be inclusive growth, for recovery to be felt by everyone”

Il commissario Ue all'euro e dialogo sociale, Valdis Dombrovskis

(Brussels) “In Europe, economic recovery is going on for the fifth year on end. In such uncertain times, it is important however for the European economies to stay competitive and adaptable to the new circumstances, by making endless efforts in terms of structural reforms”. In the light of the Winter Economic Forecast illustrated today by the EU Executive, such call to reform is made by Valdis Dombrovskis, deputy president and commissioner for euro and social dialogue, in charge of financial stability, financial services and the Capital Markets Union. “One aim must be inclusive growth, for recovery to be felt by everyone”, Dombrovskis argues. “With inflation rates increasing from the initial low levels, we cannot hope the current monetary stimulus may last forever. So, the countries that have high levels of deficit and indebtedness”, with Italy leading the way, “must keep working hard to reduce them, to become more resilient to economic shocks”.
