LEV: Brother Cesareo (new head), “grateful to the Holy Father and those who showed confidence in me”

“I am very grateful to the Pope, to Mgr. Dario E. Viganò and to the Secretariat of State for the confidence they have put in me, giving me the responsibility of guiding the Vatican Publishing House (LEV)”, said Giulio Cesareo, interviewed by SIR news agency at the Frankfurt Book Fair, commenting on his recent appointment at the helm of the LEV. An appointment that comes in an international context and marks the continuation of the journey of the Vatican Publishing House, involved in the reform process of the Holy See’s media – alongside the Secretariat for Communication. “The LEV is present in Frankfurt, at one of the most important fairs, and being here is a challenge for me as a person and as a body”, Brother Giulio said. “I am accompanied by professional and qualified staff who support me in my work and at the time of this nomination”. “Right here in Frankfurt, we present the series of 11 volumes on Pope Francis’ theology”, the new head of LEV continued. “The collection was conceived with a twofold purpose: on the one hand, to show the depth of the ecclesial and theological roots of the thought, action and Ministry of Pope Francis. Indeed, the Pontiff uses a simple language, but by no means trivial or superficial. On the contrary: it shows great knowledge of theological texts”. “On the other hand, we want to help the entire Church to gain a better understanding of the Holy Father’s Magisterium, so that we can feed on it, and accept and follow our Shepherd”. “Our goal – Giulio Cesareo concluded – is to promote the book series worldwide as much as possible. The collection will be released In Italy by Christmas. The authors of the books include men and women, priests and lay persons, Italians and foreigners. Some of the names announced in Frankfurt include: Fr. Marko Ivan Rupnik, Roberto Repole, Marinella Perroni, and Piero Coda”.
