Switzerland has good cause to celebrate, and it will do it by inviting Swiss and international guests of honour to the unveiling ceremony, along with the entire population to an unforgettable party”. An unveiling ceremony will take place on Wednesday 1st June, “worthy of the importance of the project. The event will receive international coverage and will convey the quintessentially Swiss values of innovation, accuracy and reliability. Over the following weekend, on 4th and 5th June, in the places of the celebrations “an extraordinary programme will be awaiting 50 to 100 thousand visitors at the two 57km gallery doors”. The highlights of the public party will be the first few trips through the tunnel with the Gotthard shuttle running as fast as 200 km/h, creative performances by Swiss artists, as well as an interactive event-cum-exhibition about St Gotthard.
