An appeal for peace in Syria was made by Pope Francis before the Our Father prayer at the end of today’s audience. “Last Monday – he said – some terrorist attacks took place in Syria which killed over a hundred unarmed civilians. I exhort everyone to pray to the merciful Father that He may give eternal rest to the victims, consolation to their families, and may convert the hearts of those who sow death and destruction”. “Let us pray all together to Our Lady”, the Pope concluded, before reciting the Hail Mary with some 20,000 faithful present.
