The new Executive Board of the International Union of Superiors General (UISG) for the years 2016-2019 was elected yesterday afternoon. Maltese Sister Carmen Sammut from the Missionaries of Our Lady of Africa was confirmed president, while US Sister Sally Hodgdon from the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Chambery was elected vice president. To complete the Board, the following nuns were appointed: Veronica Openibo from the Society of the Holy Child Jesus; Monica Joseph from the Religious of Jesus and Mary; Aurora Calvo Ruiz from the Mercedaries of Charity; Aurora Torres Hernandez from the Sisters of Mary Reparatrix; Josephine Kane from the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions; and Divina Gracia from the Pious Schools Daughters of Mary. The following nuns were elected substitutes: Maria Theresia Hornamann from the Missionary Sisters Servants of the Holy Spirit, and Franca Zonta from the Daughters of Mary Immaculate – “Marianists”.
