Czech Republic: National Pilgrimage of University students focusing on “Just live!”

(Bratislava) Lectures, concerts, workshops, performances, Eucharistic celebrations and discussions are on the list of activities and events during the forthcoming “Students’ Velehrad” – a national meeting of university students due to be held on 21-24 April 2016 at one of the most visited pilgrimage places of the Czech Republic. “This year’s edition bears the title ‘Just live!’, offering a space not only for reflection and spiritual enrichment, but also for sharing experiences and making new friendships”, explains Klara Simeckova from the University Catholic Movement. The aim is to “look at life from a distance”, to reflect on the values of contemporary young people and the overall direction of their lives. “Christians should focus on salvation in the first place and live with God in a simple way”, say the organizers of the event. Among the guests and speakers will be, for example, constitutional judge Katerina Simackova, writer Hana Pinknerova, or actors Tereza and Matous Ruml. Several hundred students are expected to participate in the event. For more information: www.studentskyvelehrad.cz.
