Communion and Liberation: don Carrón received by Pope Francis. “Eyes full of tenderness and mercy”

Thanks to the Pope “for showing eyes full of tenderness and mercy for the hurt people we belong to, because this is what we need, especially now”. This was voiced yesterday morning by don Julián Carrón, president of the Communion and Liberation movement, who was given a private audience by Pope Francis. One year after the movement’s meeting with the Holy Father in St Peter’s Square (7th March 2015), don Carrón comments, “with him I went over the path we have been covering over the last few years”: “I wanted to express to the Pope how strongly we wish to follow him, identifying ever more deeply with his view of man and the world”. “I am immensely grateful – the president ends – for the chance of talking that the meeting with Pope Francis has been and for the fatherly hug with which, in receiving me, he received all of our large movement. The Pope encourages us to walk on along our way to become more aware of the grace we have received in meeting don Giussani, so we can be the witnesses that he and his church expect us to be”.
