Attacks in Brussels: French bishops write to Belgian bishops, “Let’s go on building bridges”

On the day after the attacks hitting the Belgian city, President of French bishops Msgr. Georges Pontier wrote to Archbishop of Malines-Brussels Msgr. Jozef de Kesel to express strong solidarity of the Church of France, which was also seriously wounded by terrorism last 13 November. “Alarming, disquieting news coming from Brussels – wrote Pontier – First of all, we are thinking of the victims, asking God to welcome them in His great mercy. We are thinking of their exhausted families: may the experience of the victory of Christ over death give them some consolation. We also express solidarity to the whole population: we condemn these mean attacks and we grant you our fervent prayer; in spite of all difficulties, we want to go on building bridges and fostering dialogue”.
