The new Unitarian edition of the Bible (with the Old and New Testament), the result of ten years of cross-disciplinary efforts made by a special committee of German-speaking delegates, is out in all of Austria’s bookshops and libraries today. Theologians and exegetes from Austria’s and Germany’s dioceses and universities, from the German-speaking area of Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, the German-speaking area of Alsace and Belgian Wallonia, as well as the dioceses of South Tyrol, finished and printed the new edition, which will be out in Austria today, in a first run of 150 thousand copies and 3 different versions: in addition to the official one, which missals, liturgical books and Books of Hours will slowly adapt to, a four-colour version with explicatory notes and catechetic forewords for young people and a pocket-size version will be available in the bookshops too. Wolfgang Schwarz, who made the Austrian edition, expressed satisfaction for the publication of the book just before the Day of the Immaculate Conception: “There are already hundreds of orders from parishes all over Austria”.
 In a statement on the website of the German Catholic Church, katholisch.de, Joachim Traub, who made the German edition, pointed out that “after the second quarter of 2017 the e-book version and a new, freely-accessible online version should be available too”. Traub emphasises that “now the hardcopy version has just been transferred but formats with digital outputs clearly require different efforts and complicated developments”. The freely-accessible version is already available at www.biblewerk.de.
