Poland: unveiling of the shrine of Divine Providence in Warsaw

The Shrine of Divine Providence in Warsaw will be unveiled to the devotees on Friday 11th November, Independence Day. The Poles committed to build the shrine as a votive offering for the approval of the first Constitution in 1791 (the third in the world). The building was supported by 80 thousand donors, living in Poland or abroad. The group of buildings also includes the Centre of Divine Providence and the Museum dedicated to John Paul II and to cardinal Stefan Wyszyński. A selected area of the shrine will keep the mortal remains of the most illustrious Polish patriots as well as famous people from the cultural and scientific worlds. The inaugural Mass will be co-officiated by the archbishop of Warsaw, cardinal Kazimierz Nycz, by the President of the Polish Bishops Conference, mgr. Stanisław Gądecki, and by the Primate of Poland, mgr. Wojciech Polak, and will be attended by the highest national authorities with the President of the Republic, Andrzej Duda, the presidents of the two Houses, and Prime Minister Beata Szydło. Another Mass will be held at midday, at the end of which the solemn Act of Thanksgiving and Entrustment to the Divine Providence will be proclaimed.
