One of the “steps in the process of evangelisation” is “adhesion to the Christian community, that community from which it received the testimony of faith and the overt proclamation of the Lord’s mercy”. This is emphasised by the Pope, quoting Paul II’s Evangelii nuntiandi. “This communal embodiment – Francis explains in his Message for the Day of Prayer for Vocations – includes all the wealth of ecclesial life, especially the Sacraments”. “And the Church is not just a place you believe in, it is also the object of our faith”, the Pope points out: “That’s why in the Creed we say: ‘I believe in the Church’”.
