Caritas Jerusalem launched a fund-raising campaign to give Christmas presents to Gaza’s Christian families. The target is to raise 50 thousand US dollars, enough to buy presents for the 350 Christian families who live in the Strip (about 1,300 devotees, with just under 150 Catholic ones). With this initiative named “From family to family: Christmas presents for Gaza”, Caritas Jerusalem hopes to alleviate the tragic living conditions of Gaza’s population devastated by war and subjected to Israel’s blockade. Hence Caritas’s appeal to everyone’s solidarity, so that Gaza’s Christians may experience “the real spirit of Christmas and live it warmly and festively”. Presents will be handed out on 20th December after Christmas Mass, which will be officiated by the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Fouad Twal.
