Norway: Caritas hosts a debate on Laudato si’ and Cop21, with a speech from the Minister of Foreign Affairs

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tone Skogen, too will give a speech at a workshop organised by Caritas Norway, “Climate justice: what to do? What can a global climate treaty do?”, held in Oslo today. The Minister of Foreign Affairs has been asked to answer the question: “What implications does climate change have on Norway’s development policy?”, while Rasmus Hansson, spokesman of the Green Party, will explain what priorities Norway will submit to Paris’s Cop21. “Climate from a development perspective” in the light of the encyclical Laudato si’ will be addressed by Adriana Opromolla (Caritas Internationalis). “Climate justice” will be the focus of the second part of the workshop, when “the most devastating consequences of climate change, as felt by the poorest of the poor”, will be investigated. The debate will take inspiration from the findings of the latest surveys conducted by Cicero (Norwegian institute for cross-disciplinary climate research) about key players in international cooperation for climate.
